Metro line 2 service interrupted due to rescue of person on tracks

MEXICO CITY, August 6 (EL UNIVERSAL).- This morning, the Metro Collective Transportation System (STC) announced through its social networks the temporary suspension of service on Line 2 due to an emergency. According to the statement, maneuvers were being carried out to rescue a person who allegedly threw himself in front of the train.

The announcement caused concern among users, who had to look for alternatives to continue their journeys. However, a few minutes later, the STC Metro reported that the service had been restored and that Line 2 was operating normally again. “Trains will resume circulation on Line 2, all stations are in service,” the authorities announced through their social networks.

No additional information has been provided so far on the condition of the person involved in the incident. Metro authorities have asked users to remain calm and have thanked them for their understanding during the contingency.

Metro Line 2, which connects key points such as the Historic Center, the south and the east of the capital, is one of the busiest in the city. The rapid response of the rescue personnel and the upcoming resumption of service will prevent further disruption to passengers.

The Metro Public Transport System reiterated its commitment to the safety of users and assured that the necessary measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
