#MeToo: in Switzerland, what does the working world remember from “free speech”?

#swissmediatoo, #servicespublicstoo, #entreprise_too… On Instagram, publications aimed at denouncing harmful working conditions have multiplied in recent months, in the wake of the societal revolution #MeToo born in 2017 on international social networks. A toxic climate, a sexist atmosphere and even harassment… the freedom of speech has reached the ears of many institutions. But what does the working world retain from this new paradigm? What measures have Swiss companies taken to avoid acts of harassment or to intervene in the face of those that occur at home? The answer is not simple.

Some interventions are visible. Tools are multiplying, as in Geneva for example, where online training to raise awareness of sexual harassment at work has been set up for all State employees. A course integrated into an awareness kit intended for all companies in the country. In addition to the measures already in place at the end of 2020, Groupe Mutuel has also set up an external platform for reporting illegal behavior or behavior that does not comply with the company’s code of conduct. Recent news has reinforced the attention paid to such issues, attests Kristel Rouiller, director of human resources.
