The coin of the Metis project (METIS), whose top manager is the mother of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Natalya Amelin, grew by 25% in 24 hours.

At the time of writing, the asset is trading at $40. According to CoinMarketCapits capitalization reached $183 million.
In monthly terms, METIS grew by 130%, finishing in eighth place in the top of the largest coins of second-level networks.
The token’s growth is likely due to the recent announcement of a developer fund for 4.6 million METIS (~$184 million), the distribution of which is planned for the first quarter of 2024.

Metis is a permissionless L2 network that powers next-generation decentralized applications. The protocol is built on top of the Optimistic Rollups stack, which ensures fast and cost-effective transactions.
A distinctive feature of the project is the data recording strategy. While the former’s traditional solutions store on-chain information on-chain, Metis uses off-chain storage using Sequencer’s Memo Labs platform.
The main goal of the protocol is to solve the “blockchain trilemma”, which states that a network cannot be decentralized, secure and scalable at the same time.
Since Metis launched in 2021, users have completed more than 9.7 million transactions with an average gas fee of $0.0131. The total volume of blocked assets on the network reached $306 million.
