Methanol poisoning is not the reason why more people have fallen ill in Lindesnes

Several people admitted to Sørlandet Hospital with suspicion of methanol poisoning are nevertheless not methanol poisoned. This is shown by the samples that were analyzed in Oslo on Monday evening, says senior doctor Knut Erik Hovda at Ullevål Hospital. The cause of the poisonings is so far unknown.
Fewer than five people from the Lindesnes region were admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening.

Acting mayor Svein Jarle Haugland (KrF) in Lindesnes previously told NRK that they have no overview of which environment this is linked to. He urges everyone not to drink spirits or alcohol they do not know the contents of.

The police have started an investigation into the case.
