18 people in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg recently lost their lives as a result of drinking methanol-containing alcohol, writes Sky News.
In the period between October 7 and 14, two people sold alcohol with methanol in it, which is mainly used in the chemical industry.
Can get ten years
The people who are believed to have sold the toxic alcohol have been arrested by the Russian police.
The suspected perpetrators are Russian citizens, born in 1978 and 1967.
It is reported that they can face up to ten years in prison if they are found guilty of negligent sale of unsecured products, which resulted in the death of several people.
Such incidents are not uncommon in Russia, nor are deaths. The toxic alcohol often comes from illegal manufacturers.

Several cases
Earlier in October died at least eleven people in several Russian villages after drinking toxic alcohol, according to authorities in the Orenburg region.
The dead were both women and men, from 36 to 73 years old. They come from several villages located about 120 km south of Moscow.
It is unclear what they have ingested, but it is suspected that it is methanol.
The dead had never been gathered in the same place and drank alcohol together, so it is believed that the liquor was sold in several places. People in the region were therefore asked to avoid alcohol from dubious sellers.
