Meteorology extended yellow alert for strong storms that applies to nine departments

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) has updated the yellow alert by storms strong and is now in force until 5:30 p.m. (although it may be modified earlier). There are nine departments with affected localities.

“It should be noted that in stormy areas, heavy rainfall may be recorded for short periods, occasional hail, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. The situation will continue to be monitored and information will be provided in the event of any changes,” says the Inumet statement.

Localities under alert:

Long Hill: The entire department.

Peach:

Florida: Chato Hill.

Paysandú: Drums.

Rivera: Yellow, White Stream, Cerrillada, Pelado Hill, Calera Hills, La Puente, Las Flores, Corrales Mines, Moirones, Hospital Pass and Vichadero.

Rocha: Onion.

Jump: Quintana.

Tacuarembo: The towns of San Gregorio de Polanco and Batoví are known for their beauty and their history.

Thirty Three: Zapata Rice Farm, Treinta y Tres Rice Field, Chato Hill, Treinta y Tres Ejido, General Enrique Martinez, Patrol Island, Mendizabal, Rincon, Santa Clara de Olimar, Treinta y Tres, Vergara and Villa Sara.
