Meteorologists have warned of rising levels

“As a result of precipitation, in which up to 25 millimeters fell in some places on Wednesday night, and previous saturation, flow levels increased,” said the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI), adding that most of the affected streams should peak at degree of flood activity.

Meteorologists expect the second stage due to the inflow on Wednesday afternoon in Novohradka.

The warning is valid until Thursday morning and applies to parts of the Central Bohemian, Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions as well as part of the Vysočina region. Specifically, these are the districts of Chrudim, Pardubice, Vysoké Mýto, Litomyšl, Čáslav, Kostelec nad Orlicí and Chotěboř.

Further precipitation should be only slight.
