“Meteorite Crashes Through House Roof in Germany’s Elmshorn Town”

A small meteorite fell in the German town of Elmshorn in the province of Schleswig-Holstein in the northern part of Germany and broke through the roof of a house, Bild reported, quoted by BTA.

The outlet said the tennis ball-sized meteorite fell on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the German Aerospace Center (DLR) also confirmed the information. According to him, such an event happens extremely rarely.

The last time a meteorite fell in Germany, according to the DLR, was in April 2002 in Bavaria near Neuschwanstein Castle.
