A meteor flew over the Blumenau sky at more than 200,000 km/h at dawn this Thursday, 12. The passage of the celestial body, which is part of the Perseids meteor shower, was recorded by Gabriel Zaparolli. The young photographer from Rio Grande do Sul records storms and astrological phenomena.
O his observatory is located in Torres, Rio Grande do Sul. The images were taken around 3:50 am and show the meteor passing through Santa Catarina. According to Gabriel, the glow began in the north of Blumenau and died out in Bom Jardim da Serra, in Serra Catarinense.
He would have covered about 214 kilometers of distance in 3.8 seconds. The altitude of the phenomenon was about 100 km and the magnitude is estimated at -0.7. According to the expert, meteors tend to appear longer in the south because they hit the atmosphere more shallowly.
According to him, from 3:30 am this Friday, the meteor shower will be more visible. Especially in the North of Brazil. A broadcast will be made on the @ pageSpanish mystery at 10 pm this Thursday to monitor the phenomenon.
