Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Unlike most people who welcome the presence of the Metaverse, Elon Musk is the opposite. He was even more supportive of Neuralink’s existence.
“Am I like one of those people who thought of the internet in ’95 as a fad or something that would never mean anything?” Musk said in an interview on the website The Babylon Bess, quoted by Futurism, Saturday (12/25/2021).
“Of course you can put a TV on your nose. I’m not sure that gets you in the Metaverse.”
He said he was uncomfortable with a device attached to his head all the time. The Metaverse, according to SpaceX bosses, is still a long way off.
The 50-year-old man even offered another alternative to the Metaverse, namely a chip implanted in the human brain.
The company is working on this interface the ‘computer brain’, Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk. According to him, the company could place a person completely inside virtual reality.
“In the long term, the state-of-the-art Neuralink can put you completely in virtual reality,” he explains.
Elon Musk also talked about Web3. This is the concept of democratizing the internet, rebuilding it around Blockchain.
He described it as ‘more marketing than reality’.
“I don’t understand, but I don’t get it, not yet, let’s talk like that.”
Metaverse has become a byword in almost all of the world in recent times. In fact, Facebook changed its name to Meta and is currently developing the technology.
Meta pushes through the VR headset, making his Metaverse even more meaningful as it connects with other people. However, the concept was admitted that one of the employees was still far from perfect.
The company’s representative for global affairs and communications, Nick Clegg admits his experience is still lacking.
“If I lift my head, it’s because I’m drinking coffee and this crappy headset is too big for me to drink coffee without moving my headset,” he told the Financial Times recently.
