Existence is Heavy Metal, God of Steel Judas Priest

Masterpiece introduction

『Invincible Shield』

The latest album that shows a new evolution while inheriting the tradition of the band released in 2024!
Building on the success of their previous album, Firepower, the album retains its intense energy, but with more progressive elements. Rob Halford’s powerful vocals and the guitar’s precise and intense riffs stand out, making this a Judas Priest! I can’t help but feel that way!

It begins with “Panic Attack” and features lyrics with a political message. Songs such as “The Serpent and the King” and “Gates of Hell” feature hard-hitting riffs and solos typical of Judas Priest, and the songs continue to be worth listening to. “Sons of Thunder” and “Giants in the Sky” strongly reflect the band’s classic sound, and while they give a sense of evolution, there is no room for familiarity with past fans.

The album also explores themes of “fortitude” and “self-strength,” with songs about social anxieties and personal fighting spirit. Under the production of Andy Sneap, the band’s close chemistry was born, and the album is an undeniable masterpiece that has the strength of old Judas Priest, but also incorporates new experiments!

『Rocka Rolla』

The first album released in 1974 was an important work that marked the start of the band’s career and marked the origins of Judas Priest.
Unlike the later heavy metal sound, the influence of early hard rock and progressive rock is evident. What makes them unique is their musical diversity, with their albums having hard rock elements, but at times taking a blues or psychedelic rock approach.
The opening track, “One for the Road,” is a groovy, rhythmic rock song that represents the band’s early style. Also, the title song “Rocka Rolla” is a song that follows the basics of hard rock.

Although the album itself was not a commercial success, it certainly laid the groundwork for Judas Priest’s future musical direction. The influence of the album’s producer Roger Bain, in particular, is said to have pushed the band in a musically challenging direction.

As the band continued to evolve, it was reevaluated and became an important album in Judas Priest’s musical history. As you know, later albums evolved into a heavier, more metallic sound, but Rocka Rolla is a very meaningful work as the starting point and starting point for the band’s musical adventures. This is definitely a work!

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of “Rocka Rolla”, it is revived with a remix and remaster!

band history

Formed in Birmingham, England in 1969. In 1974, she released her debut album “Rocka Rolla”. After that, they suddenly gained attention with “Sad Wings of Destiny” in 1976 and established themselves as a pioneer of heavy metal. 1978’s Stained Class and Killing Machine further evolved the band’s sound and achieved commercial success.
British Steel, released in 1980, is one of the band’s masterpieces and includes hit songs such as “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.” They hit the heavy metal route with “Screaming for Vengeance” in 1982 and “Defenders of the Faith” in 1984. The band gained worldwide popularity.

1990’s “Painkiller” made the band’s sound even heavier and received high praise from fans. However, in 1992, vocalist Rob Halford left the band, and their activities temporarily stagnated. In 1996, Tim “Ripper” Owens joined as a new vocalist and activities resumed.

Rob Halford returned to the band in 2003, and the band was once again at its peak. They have released albums such as 2005’s “Angel of Retribution” and 2008’s “Nostradamus,” and are actively touring. In 2011, an emergency situation occurred in which one of the guitar players, K.K. Downing, left the group, but a new guitar hero, Richie Faulkner, joined the band. Even into the 2020s, the band continues to create new music and captivate fans around the world.
