Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Line-Up Revealed, Including Metal Gear Solid 4

Konami has just revealed the contents of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, set to release in October. However, fans have already caught a glimpse of what’s to come in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

Twitter user Nitroid noticed that the Metal Gear Solid timeline page on the official Metal Gear Solid website includes placeholder buttons for Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. While this discovery is not definitive proof, it has raised suspicions among fans.

IGN has reached out to Konami for comment and has confirmed that the lineup for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is accurate. This news has generated excitement among Metal Gear fans, particularly due to the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4. The 2008 action-adventure stealth game has been exclusive to the PlayStation 3 since its release, but with the upcoming collection expected to launch on various platforms such as PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch, a whole new audience will have the opportunity to experience “Guns of the Patriots” for the first time.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, originally released in 2010 as the fifth installment of the series exclusively for the PlayStation Portable, will also be included in the collection. It later became part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Hideo Kojima’s final work at Konami, Metal Gear Solid 5, will complete the lineup for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. The game was released in 2015 and is available on various platforms, including PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1, which is part of the upcoming collection, includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Snake’s Revenge, a screenplay book containing in-game text of each title, and a master book detailing the story and characters. Notably, this release marks the first time Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be available on PC.

The announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 has sparked anticipation among fans, who are eagerly awaiting the chance to revisit or experience these iconic games on modern platforms.

What games are included in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1?

And Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. These buttons suggest that these games will likely be included in the second volume of the Master Collection.

The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, was announced earlier this year and is set to release on October 28th for PS4 and Xbox One. This collection will give fans a chance to relive these classic games on current-gen consoles, with improved graphics and other enhancements.

However, it seems that Konami has even more in store for Metal Gear Solid fans. The Metal Gear Solid timeline page on the official website shows buttons for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, as well as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, all labeled with “coming soon.”

This discovery has sparked speculation among fans that a second volume of the Master Collection is already in development and will include these games. While Konami has not officially announced a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, these placeholder buttons suggest that it could be a possibility.

The Metal Gear Solid series is known for its intricate and immersive storytelling, as well as its innovative stealth gameplay. Having the entire mainline series available in modern collections would be a dream come true for many fans, especially those who may have missed out on certain entries in the past.

Whether or not a second volume of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection is indeed in the works, this news has undoubtedly heightened excitement and anticipation among fans. They will have to wait for further announcements from Konami to find out if their hopes for a complete Metal Gear Solid experience will come true.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 in October and revisit the thrilling adventures of Solid Snake and Big Boss on their current-gen consoles.
