Metal and Technology: there is a collective labor agreement!

After our last update last month, in which we informed members about the new rapprochement from employers after the strikes, we can now report that a collective labor agreement has been reached in the Metal and Technology sector. The strikes have achieved their goal, and the employers have been forced to come up with a better offer than was originally on the table. So there is now an agreement, and further actions are off the table.

Join De Unie now. You can do this from just €0.

The main points of the agreement are as follows:

  • Income: As of July 1, 2024, actual wages will be increased by 7%. Then, as of March 1, 2025, an additional increase of €100 gross will take place. Finally, as of October 1, 2025, wages will be increased again by 3%.
  • RVU (Early Retirement Scheme): The current arrangement will continue until the end date, with the agreement to continue it if the government continues the tax exemption.
  • Sustainable employability: During the term of the new collective labor agreement, committee agreements will be made to investigate what measures are needed to keep employees healthy and fit until they reach retirement age.
  • Extension of current arrangements: All existing arrangements will be continued.

Unfortunately, a number of our wishes for qualitative agreements, such as arrangements for working from home, travel allowances and the deletion of Article 52, did not make it through the negotiations. Ultimately, the emphasis was on maintaining purchasing power for employees. With the agreed wage increases, we were able to compensate for a significant part of the inflation of recent years.

You can read the entire collective labor agreement here. This agreement is of course only final when the members with Complete membership have agreed to it.

We would like to thank everyone for their support and commitment during the strikes. The involvement of all involved has contributed to this positive outcome.
