Metacritic Promises to Improve Moderation After Review Bombing Scandals

Review bombing, which basically means that many consumers give movies, TV shows, games and this kind of extremely negative review to indicate something that usually has nothing to do with the quality of the product, has been a thing for decades, but makes no secret that it is in has increased over the past few years.Recently, we have seen theCrisis 4》、HBO’s “The Last of Us”and Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Coast expansion pack bombed on Metacritic and other sites where the public could share their thoughts and influence the product’s user score. Two of the three were victims for the same reason, while the third was in the same cab. This often leads to a misleading impression, so it’s good to hear that things might change soon.

Metacritic toldEurogamer,it”Aware of abusive and disrespectful comments on Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores”,andIt is “currently evolving our processes and tools to introduce a more rigorous review over the coming months”.It’s not the first time we’ve heard something like this after a review explosion hit the headlines, but hopefully it will be the last.
