Meta introduces new monetization tools for creators on Facebook and Instagram

As for NFTs, Meta relies on the Polygon blockchain for integration with Instagram and an end-to-end toolkit, which allows you to sell tokens directly on Instagram, but also outside the social network. Primarily, however, this feature is being tested in the US with a select group of influencers.

Meta tries to avoid the somewhat heavy term “NFT” and is mostly about digital collectibles. Here they also want to give users the ability to show videos and images and now they also support the Solana blockchain and phantom wallet. Additionally, additional OpenSea metadata is now displayed for some collections. In the US, all creators can now offer memberships to earn money from their fans.

Managing Facebook stars is also simplified. They should now be automatically activated for all public content, including reels. This is still being tested with a select group of influencers, but at least internationally. Ultimately, of course, this only affects those who actively use the Stars. Also new is Reels’ “Stars Party,” where the creators essentially encourage the community to dig deep into their wallets. Creators should also be able to react to stars more easily by introducing a filter in the comments manager that groups all comments with stars. It should also soon be possible to assign stars for photos and text, not just videos.

There are also gifts on Instagram, which take the first step. Users can buy stars and give virtual gifts to influencers, which creators can then convert into cash. Here, too, the experiment initially begins in a small group in the United States.

Last but not least, there will be a new profile setting on Facebook that will allow influencers to use their private profile professionally. This new option is called “Professional Mode”.
