Meta has a new system for Instagram and Facebook settings

Meta is creating a new Account Center, which will allow users to view their Instagram and Facebook account settings in one place.

Specifically, it refers to configuration options related to personal data, security, advertising preferences, among other topics. We tell you what it is about.

A new hub for settings options for Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger

Instagram and Facebook settings have always been a pain in the ass. Despite the fact that the Meta team has made an effort to bring order to the different configuration sections, it is not always easy to find what we are looking for in the app configuration.

And to make the dynamics simpler, Meta it is centralizing some of the configuration options of the apps. So you can manage your preferences on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger from one place.

This does not mean that there will be an independent place, outside of the apps. On the contrary, the center will be available in the configuration menu of each of the apps. This will allow you, for example, to adjust some detail of the Instagram settings from the Facebook app.

One detail to keep in mind is that this dynamic will work, as long as we add the accounts manually.

Adding more than one account to the same Account Center is optional; if you wish to keep your accounts in separate Account Centers, you may do so. For people who choose to do so, they will still have access to the same settings and can apply them to individual accounts.

Some of the settings that will be added to this new Configuration Center have to do with personal data, passwords, advertising preferences, security options, among others. All of these changes will gradually roll out to all users over the coming months.
