The Met Gala is not just another fashion show but an opportunity for designers to show off their most refined.
It may have started as a simple charity dinner, but now it is a celebration of couture creations.

This year’s theme for the Met gala was titled The Garden of Time, a title the organizers borrowed from JG Ballard’s short story of the same name.

Protests and incidents
In the midst of days of university students in America protesting the crime taking place in Gaza, dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters attempted to approach the venue of the Met Gala shouting “Rafa!, Gaza” and were blocked by police.
Earlier unionists from Condé Nast, the parent company of Vogue magazine that organizes the Met Gala, protested low pay and working conditions.
The mysterious woman who stole the show
But the photographers’ flashes were stolen by a mysterious woman wearing a butterfly-inspired dress. As soon as her photos were uploaded on social media, users adored her for her sophistication and unmatched beauty. It’s Indian businesswoman Mona Patel who wore a nude Iris Van Herpen dress, which featured a butterfly, corset bodice and sheer lace detailing on the side.
Her hands were adorned with jewels that mechanically moved on their own, sending those present into a frenzy.

In 2021 Forbes magazine included her in its list of the richest people on the planet.

The actress and singer Zendaya impressed with a custom mermaid dress by Maison Margiela by John Galliano, while Kim Kardashian shone in Maison Margiela, also by John Galliano.
Nicole Kidman chose Balenciaga while Jennifer Lopez preferred Schiaparelli.
