Last September, the New York museum revealed that the exhibition Karl Lagerfeld : A Line of Beauty will be divided into two parts, bringing together more than 150 creations from the German designer and photographer. All will come from his 36 years at the head of the French fashion house, but also from his years spent at Fendi (from 1965 to his death), Chloé (from 1963 to 1965), Balmain (as an assistant from 1954 to 1957), They heel (in the late 1950s) and his eponymous brand Karl Lagerfeld (from 1984 to his death).
Of course, the many celebrities expected will have the challenge of dressing in the style of the Kaiser of fashion, he who was particularly fond of white and black, straight and neat cuts, leather mittens, the fans and the thick sunglasses with smoked lenses. In order for the dress code to be clear for all the fashion houses that will be responsible for dressing the stars invited, the organization has soberly titled “In Honor of Karl”.
A tennis player, two actresses and a singer as new jurors
As usual, Anna Wintour will be surrounded by co-chairs to host the evening. Last year, Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, as well as Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda were chosen as members of the jury. For this new edition, the popess of fashion has relied on a cast of choice. She thus invited as jurors the famous actress and muse Chanel Penelope Cruz, the british singer Dua Lipathe Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, retired from the discipline since September 2022 and the actress and screenwriter Michael Coelstar of the series Chewing Gum who is in the cast of the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
