Who was Karl Lagerfeld?

The designer was born in Hamburg, Germany, and began his career in fashion after winning a design contest in 1954 for the Pierre Balmain brand.

He was a creative director and designer who walked for some of the best-known Parisian couture labels such as Chloé, Balmain and Patou. But it was in two fashion houses, one French and one Italian, where he made his mark: Chanel y Fendi.
