Met Behind the plinththe sixth album of Pear the Plinth Gnome, doesn’t just stop the comedy gag sequence of Mark van Broekhoven, it is also his farewell album to the comic world. Peer has been with us since 1994 in the then comic weekly magazine SeeShi and then ended up in all kinds of Dutch comics and newspapers, such as Striparazzi, Metro, Myx and the Telegraph.
A first album was released in 2000 Silvester, a year later it also published part 1 1/2 in landscape format, so that the complete series now actually consists of 6.5 parts. Parts 2 and 3 were also released by Silvester tot Pear the Plinth Gnome in 2012 Strip2000 ended up for part 4. Part 5 was published by Strip2000 and Syndicate. And now a third publisher, namely Reboot Comics die Pear the Plinth Gnome to end in beauty.
The publisher does this with a softcover album of 52 pages (10.95 euros) to be released in August, which is composed of new jokes, remakes of old strips and some file pages. Some of Marq van Broekhoven’s colleagues are celebrating with guest appearances on the extra pages. Among other Eric Hill, Dick Heins, Rob Derks, Dirk Stallart and many others each contributed.
