Inter Miami only has Tuesday Javier Mascherano as new head coach presented, a day later the MLS club highlighted the next prominent personality: Luis Suárez extended his contract in Miami for another year, as the club announced.
The Uruguayan teamed up in Florida in January and met up with old teammates such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Suárez played with them all for FC Barcelona, where he also appeared side by side with his head coach Mascherano a total of 124 times.
In the MLS season that ended prematurely for Miami, Suárez scored 20 goals in 27 games. “I’m very happy, very happy that I can stay here for another year and enjoy being with these fans who are like family to us. We feel very, very connected to them and we hope we can bring them even more joy next year,” explained the striker after his contract extension.
