Messi and Suarez cheered like they did in their Barca days

Inter Miami with Lionel Messi won the so-called Supporters Shield as qualifying winners in the US soccer championship MLS. Messi played a key role in the 3-2 win against Columbus Crew on Wednesday (local time) with two goals shortly before half-time. With this success, Miami can no longer be pushed out of first place in the table in the two remaining rounds. In the play-offs, the club from Florida has a home advantage throughout.
Alessandro Schöpf with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Hannes Wolf with New York City FC are already in the play-off. David Schnegg still has a chance with DC United, but he would have to win the two remaining games to do so. The play-offs start at the end of October. The MLS Cup final is on December 7th.
Messi scored 1-0 in Columbus in the 45th minute and also made it 2-0 with a direct free kick from a long distance (45th+5). After the home team’s goal, Luis Suarez made it 3-1 for Miami (48th). Inter goalkeeper Drake Callender saved a penalty at the end. It was Messi’s fifth brace of the MLS season and he now has 17 goals in 17 games.
