Rio de Janeiro: Brazilian legend Kaka has welcomed Argentine superstar Lionel Messi to the club’s Triple Crown. The Triple Crown Elite roster consists of players who have won three titles: World Cup, Champions League and Ballandeor. Kaka announced it through an Instagram story that read ‘Welcome to the club, Messi’.
Messi has won seven Ballon d’Ors and four Champions League titles. The doors to the club’s triple crown were opened for Messi when he won the World Cup in Qatar. There are nine stars on the triple crown list who have won all three of those titles. Lionel Messi joins the ranks of legends such as Bobby Charlton, Franz Beckenberger, Gerd Muller, Paolo Rossi, Zinedine Zidane, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaka.
After three decades of waiting, Argentina became world champions through the Qatar World Cup. Messi was Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament in this World Cup. Messi also won the Ballon d’Or. Messi scored seven goals, including two in the World Cup final. The World Cup in Qatar ended the era of criticism that there is no world crown despite all that is possible in football. Argentina won the World Cup on penalties.
