Argentina are unbeaten in 36 consecutive games. Argentina’s last defeat came when they fell 0-2 to Brazil in the semi-finals of the 2019 Copa America. Argentina made this record by winning the 2021 Copa America and winning the Grand Final by beating Italy.

Messi appears to have risen again in Team Tango after going through a difficult period due to failure at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. A major figure behind Messi’s rise with Argentina is the coach Lionel Scaloni and his assistant Paul Aimar.
At the beginning of his coaching period, Scaloni didn’t call Messi because he chose to build a team with young players. However, Scaloni is aware that the young Argentine team needs a leader like Messi.
Scaloni then asked Messi to return to the Argentina national team. The former Barcelona star is therefore determined to return to his uniform Argentina after Pablo Aimar also persuaded him.
Aimar is Messi’s idol. Aimar was anticipated as a great talent for Argentina when he played at Valencia. But sadly the pinnacle of Aimar’s career didn’t last long.
“He joined after six games. We had a video call with him and Aimar when we took over, explaining our plans, letting him know the door was open for him. We said, ‘We know maybe it’s best you didn’t get called. still standing.’ He is happy, especially for Pablo, who is his idol, “said Scaloni quoted by the Telegraph.
“He said, ‘When you want me, I’ll be there.’ We need the team to be strong first. It won’t be the same if a little boy comes along and suddenly trains with Leo. It’s hard to explain what impact he has on the team. You can feel it just by being there.”
