Away from PSG’s star trio, Europe’s top clubs earn significantly less. In fourth place in the salary ranking is Real Madrid’s reservist Eden Hazard, who will receive an annual salary of €27 million until 2024, more than Robert Lewandowski (€26 million) at FC Barcelona or Erling Haaland (€22 million). at Manchester City.
The fact that Europe’s most accurate footballer earns “only” €22m gross is because a 22-year-old newcomer shouldn’t start as the top earner ahead of leader Kevin De Bruyne (€23.4m). According to British media reports, it is considered certain that Haaland is already de facto at the top of the Citizens thanks to easy-to-achieve bonuses.
While the Bundesliga is at the top of Europe with Bayern trio Sadio Mané (€24m), Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller (each just under €20m), the four highest-paid footballers in Serie A earn around €12m each Season. These are Dusan Vlahovic, Wojciech Szczesny and Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus Turin and Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic. The highest-paid footballer outside of Europe’s competitions is Cristiano Ronaldo, who is said to receive around €71m per season for his footballing services at Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr FC.
