Messi grabbed Real Madrid player Rodrigo by the neck after a row at the Maracanã

Argentina captain Lionel Messi grabbed Brazil international Rodrigo by the neck after a row involving fans and police at the Maracanã stadium.

The Brazilian national team will host the Argentines at the Maracanã on Wednesday night in a World Cup qualifying match.

Before the game, a fight broke out in the stands involving fans of both teams and the police. Messi led the team to the locker room, and after a while the Argentines returned to the field. Before the starting whistle, Messi had an argument with Real Madrid player Rodrigo. Messi, together with Rodrigo De Paul, approached the Brazilian and grabbed him by the neck with his right hand, while the Argentine captain reprimanded something to the Real Madrid player.
