Cesc Fabregas discussing the whistles of Paris Saint-Germain fans to Lionel Messi. That’s what the former Arsenal and Barcelona said.
PSG have been knocked out of the Champions League after losing to compete with Real Madrid. As a result, Messi was ridiculed during PSG’s match in Ligue 1.
Messi’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, even saddened to see her husband scorned in person. Now, it’s Fabregas’ turn to defend his former colleague from La Masia.
“Leo’s case is very simple. For me, he is the best I have ever seen and played. What I have seen from him is extraordinary,” Fabregas told Marca.
“I was also booed at Camp Nou. So I know what happened with PSG. The fans want to create moments of tension with the players.”
“During the game they support you, when they sing your name, perfect, but what I saw a few days ago, mocking when Neymar lost the ball or whistling when they touched the ball, was very bad.”
Fabregas also asked PSG fans to be patient with Messi. He even considered PSG never had a player as great as Messi.
“You are talking about a player (Messi) who has just arrived. PSG have never had a player like this in their life,” Fabregas revealed.
“It’s better to be grateful, support him and not destroy him. This year or next, these guys will bring you great moments,” he stressed.
