Argentina national team choose a different approach in World Cup 2022. Lionel Messi et al will not stay in a luxury hotel, but in a simple and fun location.
The Argentine team arrived in Doha, Qatar on Thursday (17/11/2022) local time. La Albiceleste headed straight for his inn.
If most of the other teams stay in luxury hotels, that’s different from Argentina. Messi et al have chosen a simple position.
According to the DailyMail, Argentina national team will remain at the Qatar University campus. The student hall became Argentina’s temporary headquarters while in Qatar.
The position was chosen not without reason. The Argentine team, it seems, also wants to have fun on the pitch World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Argentina has chosen the University of Qatar, to be able to host its traditional barbecue, Asados. Grilling meat, eating salad and drinking wine wants to make Messi et al.
While he seemed to be enjoying himself, the Argentina team was reminded not to overdo it. Because Lionel Scaloni’s team is one of the favorites to win the 2022 World Cup.
“We have visited the campus several times and have chosen it, because not only does it have very good facilities, but it also has an open space to host Asados,” said a representative of the Argentine Football Federation.
“It’s very important for the players and for Argentina in general. It’s part of our culture. We want them to feel at home in Qatar and the best way is to give them the feeling of being at home when they focus on football.”
“You could say that other teams prefer to stay in luxury accommodation, but even our team who are the best in the world deserve to taste the best meat. Our goal is the World Cup, not the quality of the hotels we stay in.” he said.
Argentina national team same in group C World Cup 2022 with Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. Team Tango’s inaugural match is against Saudi Arabia at Lusail Iconic Stadium, on November 22nd.
