Argentina take on United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Zayed Sports City Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (16/11/2022) tonight at 22.30 WIB. This duel was Team Tango’s last test before their performance at World Cup 2022.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni played Lionel Messi and Angel di Maria from the first minutes. Both support Julian Alvarez as the spearhead.
Argentina appeared dominant from the start of the match. Continuing to attack, they managed to break the deadlock in the 17th minute.
Messi is free from the offside trap. He wasn’t selfish even though he was left in front of UAE goalkeeper, Khalid Eisa. La Pulga handed the ball to Alvarez who managed to finish it on goal.
Argentina could double in the 25th minute. Marcus Acuna’s cross was met by a measured volley from Di Maria. Di Maria’s shot hit the crossbar before nestling in the UAE goal.

Messi didn’t want to miss goals in the first round. One minute before the break, he scored a goal completing a nice cross-collaboration between the Albiceleste players.
In the second half, Argentina replaced many players. This decreases the intensity of their attacks.
The UAE almost took advantage of this situation to score a goal. However, Harib Abdalla Suhail’s long-range shot still hit the bar.
Although not as aggressive as in the first half, Argentina still managed to steal a goal in the 60th minute. Rodrigo de Paul’s through ball managed to reach Joaquin Correa. Correa’s shot hit Alhassan Saleh before rolling into the corner of the net.
Argentina’s attacks are no longer sharp. Meanwhile, the UAE also failed to capitalize on the opportunities they had to score in their remaining matches.
Argentina closed the game with a 5-0 victory.
