Lionel Messi will cap a fantastic year in football with the Player of the Year award.
On Monday evening, FIFA will once again honor the best players of the past year at “The Besta Awards” in Paris. To be precise, performances between August 8, 2021 and December 18, 2022 have been taken into account. The jury consists of the captains and coaches of the national teams, selected journalists and fans. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the winner of the “The Best” award is, unsurprisingly, Lionel Messi. Among other things, he prevails against PSG club colleague Kylian Mbappé and Real striker Karim Benzema.
With the World Cup title with Argentina, “La Pulga” provided the decisive argument for the election. The 35-year-old has personally scored a whopping 700 goals in his professional career.
