Jakarta, CNNI Indonesia —
National team captain Argentina Lionel Messi stuttering towards the Dutch coach, Louis Van Gal after winning on penalties in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, Saturday (10/12) early morning WIB.
Messi looked impressive once again as Argentina got rid of the Netherlands. Pulga scored one goal and provided one assist in this game.
He became the creator of the goal scored by Nahuel Molina in the 35th minute. Then it was his turn to score from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.
However, the Dutch leveled thanks to two goals from substitute Wout Weghorst (83′ and 90+11′).
Not only did four goals happen but this match also took place hotly. There had also been a commotion over the unsportsmanlike actions of Leandro Paredes towards the end of the second half.
The hot tension carried over to penalties. The friction occurred several times even in the moment of the penalty kick which Argentina won with a score of 4-3.
As soon as the penalty shootout ended, Messi got into a fight with Van Gaal and seemed to be saying something. The collector of seven Ballon d’Ors is suspected to have approached the Dutch trainer because he was not happy with his comments before the match.
In the press conference session, Van Gaal said he would try to kill Messi. It’s just that the speech was not demonstrated because Messi looked really good in this match.
Messi also had to be calmed down by the Dutch assistant coach, Edgar Davids. After that Messi was pulled by his teammate Angel Di Maria to stop his confrontation with Van Gaal.
Argentina’s win sent them through to the semifinals to meet Croatia. Tango’s team will face Vatreni at Lusail Iconic Stadium on Wednesday (14/12) in the morning WIB.
