Success Lionel Messi won the best player award in World Cup 2022 it also adds to the money chests Sergio Aguero.
Lionel Messi scored a double success in Qatar. As well as taking home the World Cup trophy, Messi was also awarded the golden ball as the symbol of the best footballer at the event which takes place every four years.
Messi’s Golden Ball award made Aguero happier than ever. The former Argentina national team player bet that Messi will be the best player on November 17, 2022 or a month before the World Cup final.
Aguero bet U$1,001.81 or about IDR 15.6 million. From that bet, Aguero won US$8,264.94 or IDR129 million.
“On November 17 I bet the best player of the World Cup will be Messi and I was right,” Aguero wrote on Instagram.
Messi became the soul of the Argentina team during the 2022 World Cup. Always appearing as a starter, Messi scored seven goals and three assists.

Messi only failed to score in the match against Poland in the group stage. In that match Messi’s penalty was saved by Wojciech Szczesny. However, Argentina still won.
In the final match, Messi scored two goals against France which made Argentina excel in regular time and extra time.
Pulga nearly won a hat-trick at the 2022 World Cup, but the top scorer title did not fall into his hands after Kylian Mbappé scored eight goals or was one goal ahead of Messi during the 22nd World Cup event.
