Soccer star Lionel Messi today apologized to fans for not playing in the exhibition match that his Inter Miami team played in Hong Kong.
More than two weeks after disappointing the thousands of fans who came to see him, “La Pulga” published a video on the Weibo social network to explain his absence.
The 36-year-old footballer said he had inflammation in his adductor, an injury he felt in the first game he played in Saudi Arabia, and after making an effort to continue on the field he couldn’t take it anymore.
«In fact I did what I could and I was at the clinic with all the kids there. But the truth is I couldn’t play because I felt discomfort and there was a risk of getting worse.”
The discomfort continued in Chinese territory and then he went out on the field for a few minutes during his visit to Tokyo, because he felt better and “needed to play and get into a rhythm again.”
