Messenger come from Springfield, USA and publish in with In To Win already her third album. Even though they play flawless heavy metal from a musical point of view, their content differs from other bands in this genre, because Messenger are a Christian oriented metal band.

Fortunately, contrary to the band’s name, there is less preaching, but more about interpersonal and everyday problems from a Christian perspective. Friends of blood, dragons and steel will get away with nothing here.

Nevertheless or because of me Messenger musically Wytch Hazel remember, they jumped right in my ear and so I can’t avoid it In To Win to take a close look at.

A sermon without a mallet

Even though the album seems like a piece, which is mainly due to the pleasant way of singing Frank Clifton Herring every song has its own touch and therefore its justification. Of course, the opener relies on dynamism, a good mood and a high mid-tempo. So poses Time Machine a successful rocker with powerful vocals and guitars. So that you know what we’re talking about, there is HERE first the lyric video.

With the following Blind Sided is not slowed down, but accelerated and with a fresh and positive feeling. The chorus and the accompanying guitar go straight to the ear, while the drums drive like a locomotive. For friends of melodic metal should Take Flight to be found food. Not only because of the great singing I will go back to the above Wytch Hazel remind.

Sounds like it was designed for live concerts Give A Shout!, which encourages you to join in and shout along in the chorus, but seems a bit too simple for me compared to the previous material. The following is quite different Crows and the Hawkthat stands out for its melody and lightness. It’s such a beautiful rock song that I’ll give it to you HERE would like to give to be heard.

Declarations of war on evil

After the rocking Messenger At Arms, with a nice guitar solo, follows with Satan’s Nightmare another musical highlight. Even if I consider the very personal challenge to Satan to be a great effort, we want to Messenger but the positive intention and statement, in connection with a great song, credit. In principle it is the following When I Go a good song, but a bit too simple for me in the chorus.

How many parallels there are in the view of politicians and disenchantment with politics across national borders, we learn from July 5 [The Politician’s Song]. Here the politicians, probably from their own negative experience, are subject to a principled, hypocritical policy of gaining and maintaining power.

Back on the speed highway brings us a nice rocker named Anchor. This is followed by the instrumental Trial and Triumph, which is a real highlight for friends of guitar sounds. Here is raging Vlad Gurin tidy, and that shouldn’t be ignored Michael John Hoover on the drums played a major role in the successful dynamic on the album.

Heart, faith, fight

Comes without a real ballad In To Win not off and that is included Last Supper. A song that is packed with emotions, Christian images, and creeds. Also the final rock Fear No Evil is a Christian declaration of war with music. There is nothing to fear when the Lord is with you.

Messenger definitely have nothing to fear if the following albums turn out so well. At any time you can tell that there are three musicians with skill and passion. Maybe a track or two less would have made the overall picture look even better, but overall, each song is a little stone in a big picture.

Conclusion
Messenger
is an above-average album. In To Win is full of positive statements, varied compositions and is recommended not only for listeners with a creed, but for every fan of honest rock music. Therefore earned 8 / 10.
