Many people look for their inner peace in the wrong places. Some seek peace in vacations. They think that if they leave home and leave work for a few days, they will find peace. I can’t find it.
Others seek peace in their relationship as a couple. They have had countless relationships and none of them have brought them peace, but they keep trying.
Others seek their peace in money. The thing about money is that if you have a lot of money, it magnifies both your qualities and your flaws. For example, if you are a liar when you have little money, you will be a big liar when you have a lot of money.
There are people who have a lot of money, they have everything they could want, but they have no inner peace.
I don’t know what places/substances/persons you look for peace, but it can only be found when you are functioning in alignment with God. When you are aligned with God you can find inner peace even in the midst of the outer storm.
Many people never find peace because from their point of view you can only be at peace when everything around you is going exactly the way you want it to.
I found that we cannot find our peace in something outside, but in Someone inside – in God. When you function in alignment with God, He can make it so that even in situations where you are in the middle of a “storm”, you feel calm, calm, keep your emotional balance, knowing that no matter what happens to you, God is with you you and that he will help you get out to port.
Some of you ask the priest to pray for you, and you would like that after he does that, God will immediately solve that problem, get you out of that situation immediately.
I’m sorry, but that’s not how things work.
God is not going to get rid of your problems/trials/obstacles, but He will help you keep your inner peace while going through those trials. God will not save you from the difficult moments of your life, but He will help you overcome them.
No one escapes trials in life, no matter how devoted they are to God. The fact that you have faith in God does not make your life easier in the sense that it relieves you of some trials, but it makes you stronger so that you can more easily overcome the trials you face. (Michael Todd)
