Message service Signal suffers from interference – Tablets and telephones – News

There are still many more apps than that, of course, and everyone has to decide for themselves where to go. However, I have sometimes used Wire, but there is really no one on it, and I also had a lot more problems with it than with Signal (actually never until now).

And as far as I know, Threema is not open source (or part of it), it is paid, and hardly anyone sits on it either.

It is not that I am a pro Signal per se, but there are a lot of advantages to Signal compared to other projects.

  • Completely open source
  • Non profit (works on the basis of donations)
  • Much more people using it
  • Free (falls under non-profit)

If threema had been free for the first year, I think it would have been a great competitor to Signal. Not necessarily for myself, but for the vast majority of people who would like to have free apps.

If you can get some people over to Wire, then you should, unfortunately, that’s not going to work on my side. Maybe a handful of people would come along, but besides that, why would I choose Threema instead of a free alternative that is very clear that it works with donations and is therefore free and that you are not the product? I am genuinely curious. If you can tell me why Threema is really much better than Signal, please let me know. I just haven’t been able to find any advantages that Signal doesn’t have.
