White, compact and air-cooled

After 12 years with my old system, it was time to build a new one. In a world where storage has gone from 3.5 inches to M.2 and and everything I need for gaming, light 3d modeling and some music creation fits on an Itx board, I felt it was time to move from the big box on the floor to the small on the table.

Ever since it launched, I’ve been pining for Meshlicious. A small stripped down box with great potential, nice proportions and high airflow. On Black Friday 2022 I started collecting parts and in January 2023 I finally assembled the build.

I would like to say that I chose components that were affordable but in all honesty looks trumped in many cases.

The choice of AM4 was simply for budget reasons, AM5 was still very new and at the time there weren’t that many memories to choose from. An AM4 build can last many more years and the possibility to change up to a 5800X3D will extend it even more. The other component that will be replaced in the future is the GPU. But for the price I got my 6700 XT it was hard bang for the buck for 3440×1440 gaming.
