Defender of the Columbia Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL) Vladislav Gavrikov has expressed its views on a possible lease to one of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) units.
It has already been reported that several NHL clubs rent out their brochures to European League teams to practice before the training camps begin. Several Russian hockey players have also chosen to go to KHL to prepare for the upcoming season in their homeland.
“It’s a difficult situation because we don’t know when the tournament will start. If you knew a specific date, it would be easier. We are currently focusing on January 1. It doesn’t even make sense to go to KHL for one month. If the beginning of the season was planned for a later date, then this option could be considered, “said Gavrikov.
Last season, the 24-year-old defender made his debut in the NHL, scoring 18 (5 + 13) points and +1 in 69 main tournament matches. In 10 Stanley Cup games, Gavrikov has one goal, two assists and a negative utility -4.
Yesterday it was reported that Gavrikov signed a new three-year contract with Blue Jackets for 8.4 million US dollars (7.07 million euros).
