1,225 former airline employees Merpati Airlines will obtain proceeds from the sale of assets worth IDR 54.8 billion. This follows the decision of the Panel of Commercial Court Judges in the Surabaya District Court declaring the bankruptcy of PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines on June 2, 2022.
PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) Chief Executive Yadi Jaya Ruchandi said the distribution of proceeds from the sale of the first phase of the assets will be given to creditors, including former employees.
“This distribution should provide certainty for the settlement of Merpati Airlines’ obligations to creditors, prioritizing the principle of justice for all parties, including former employees,” Yadi said in an official statement on Monday (2/1). .
Yadi said all creditors registered and verified on the first-stage distribution list would receive the distribution set by the court.
As for the distribution list for the first phase, 1,225 former employees of Merpati Airlines received a distribution of IDR 54.8 billion.
Furthermore, the court decision on the distribution list for the first phase ruled that the salary distribution due to 50 former employees of Merpati Airlines amounted to IDR 3.8 billion.
“Furthermore, the curation team will continue efforts to sell Merpati Airlines’ assets, the proceeds of which will be distributed to creditors,” concluded Yadi.
