The 18-year-old Merlijne Schorren from Groningen is on the cover of the next edition of Vogue. She was accidentally discovered two years ago on the talk show Jinek, where her father talked about the gas extraction problem.
It is the first time that Schorren has appeared on the cover of the fashion and lifestyle magazine. The photo shoot with the Groningen was done by photographer Ferry van der Nat. On the magazine’s website, 88 percent say they think the cover is ‘beautiful’.
The new edition of Vogue has the theme ‘beauty – in all its forms’.
Discovered by accident
Schorren was scouted two years ago by a modeling agency from Amsterdam, after she was seen in the audience at a television broadcast of the talk show Jinek. Claudio Minnai, owner of Ulla Models, was so impressed by the Groningen teenager that he immediately took pictures of the television screen. He sent it in an email to his modeling agency.
Shortly after the broadcast, Schorren was contacted and she was offered a modeling contract. The Groningen has now collaborated with renowned brands such as Prada and Dior.
