A pickpocket managed to get hold of the wallet of none other than Angela Merkel this week. The perpetrator struck his blow in a branch of supermarket Ullrich on Morsestraße in the center of the German capital.

The cut was in a bag that Merkel had hung on her shopping cart, Bild writes. Despite the presence of several bodyguards around the former chancellor, the pickpocket managed to steal the wallet.
