Merkel “Childcare facility, school first…not yet open”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said “we are betting everything on reopening childcare facilities and schools first.”

Prime Minister Merkel said in a podcast to the public that was released on the 30th local time, “It is intended to bring back some of the everyday lives that are familiar to children and to ease the burden of the family.

Prime Minister Merkel said, “Thanks to our joint efforts, the number of new coronavirus cases has been decreasing since a while ago. At the same time, there is a real threat from the highly contagious mutant virus.”

“We need to act carefully and carefully in the coming weeks,” he said. “The time has not come to reopen childcare facilities and schools.”

“There will be a lot of easing this year,” Merkel said. “The hardest thing is avoiding contact, and neither will I.”

The German government is compensating for parents’ income diminishing returns due to the coronavirus closing school or childcare facilities and having to take care of their children at home.

In addition, from this year, the period of paid leave for parents who need to take care leave due to Corona has been expanded from 10 days to 20 days.
