German Chancellor Angela Merkel turned to German residents after completing home quarantine, reports RIA News.
Merkel noted that she was doing well, but spending 14 days at home with the ability to communicate only by phone or via the Internet was not easy. Therefore, she expressed her words of support to everyone who is now in a similar situation, especially to elderly people who cannot leave the apartment, like her, in two weeks.
The chancellor also said that the Germans this year because of the coronavirus will be “a completely different Easter.” The country will not have traditional festivities and meetings with relatives, and it will be necessary to watch Easter services on television or online.
Merkel recalled that in the absence of a vaccine and a cure for coronavirus, maintaining social distance remains the most effective protection.
According to the chancellor, the time will come when “we will unlimitedly wish each other a happy Easter,” but how soon it will come depends on all the inhabitants of the country.
Earlier it was reported that today the head of the German government came out of self-isolation and started to work in the office. All three Merkel tests made during quarantine were negative.
Recall, Chancellor of Germany set off to home quarantine on March 22, learning that the doctor who vaccinated her was infected with the coronavirus. Merkel was in self-isolation mode in her apartment in the museum district of Berlin, while continuing to work remotely.
