Mexico has established itself as the big stage of tennis in Latin America. And after the success of the men’s and women’s tournaments comes the Merida Open 250which promises to bring at least a couple of players into the Top 15 for its first edition, from 18 to 26 February, the Yucatán Country Club.
Tonatiuh Bravomanaging director of Events in Mexicothe company organizing the competition has promised that the tournament will have beautiful names to make fans of Yucatan fall in love, which has already bought 60 percent of the seats despite still missing three months to the event.
“As organizers of big events, we always try to offer our audience experiences that go beyond the ordinary. In this case, we try to bring in tennis players who put on a great show.
“We know that the fans of this city are demanding and we want to meet their expectations. But this great tournament will also benefit Mérida in the economic field, since we are talking about a considerable income that it will leave during the week in which it takes place,” he commented .
The complex where the Merida Open 250 its construction has begun. It will have a main stadium for 3,600 peopledls secondary courts, 91 boxes and general grandstands.
The tournament investment that replaces the Zapopan 250 is 100 million pesos and a spill of 300 is expected. The stock market will be 310 thousand dollars for the future champion.
