Valkama would have hoped that Marin would have condemned Israel’s actions, because he has profiled himself as speaking for Ukraine, human rights and peace.
– Human rights are something that cannot be brushed off. If you defend only one nation’s right to peace and integrity, then you are not actually defending the right of all.
According to Valkama, some have defended Marin by saying that he cannot say anything because of his work at the Tony Blair Institute.
– I don’t know if that is the reason for Marin’s silence. But if I had a job that prevented me from taking a stand against genocide for peace, I would feel I was in the wrong place at work.

Valkama emphasizes that although he wrote a column about Sanna Marin, he directs the same criticism of indifference to the genocide in Gaza to several other Finnish politicians and influencers.
– This applies equally to the media and journalists, we are now primarily discussing Sanna Marin and I am trying to put Gaza in the center.
