HOUSTON – The Weather Authority is watching for two low pressure systems that could meet in the Gulf this weekend, while a front advances through the north, causing the two areas of interest to merge.
The tropical wave, identified as Invest 90-L, which is currently being monitored in the Gulf, is said to be joining another area of possible development coming from the Bay of Campeche.
This potential merger has significant implications for our region. It is expected to generate a significant amount of tropical moisture, which would begin to affect us starting Monday or Tuesday of next week, putting an end to a weekend with low humidity in the region and clear skies.
At this time of year we must be on the lookout for any signs of a storm system that could form in our waters, as sea temperatures are at their highest.
As a result, forecasts call for increased rainfall over the next few days across our Southeast Texas region.
This phenomenon is explained by the union of two low pressure areas, whose combined effect would cause rain in our area.
