Mercy Driver Claims No Intention To Block Ambulance on Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, Here’s the Explanation

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – The dispute between the Mercedes-Benz driver with license plate number B 2873 PBK and the ambulance driver that started on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road ended peacefully.

It is known that the ambulance that was carrying the pregnant mother who was about to give birth was stopped by the driver of Mercy on March 12, 2022 in the early hours of the morning.

Then, the Tangerang City Resort Police facilitated a meeting or mediation between the Mercy driver named Dwiyanto and the ambulance driver, Hildan, on Wednesday (23/3/2022).

Dwiyanto admitted that he had no intention of blocking the speed of the ambulance in the early hours of that morning.

“I don’t have the slightest intention to block the ambulance,” said Dwiyanto to the media crew, Wednesday.

Dwiyanto recounted that while driving on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, there was a Toyota Avanza in front of him when Hildan honked a long horn from behind.

Dwiyanto said that the Toyota Avanza never changed lanes, so Dwiyanto decided to change lanes to the left.

However, when Dwiyanto moved to the left, the ambulance driven by Hildan also changed lanes and grazed his car.

“Because I knew that to ask for (the way to) Avanza was not given and went straight to the left. And I was surprised when a few moments I was on the left, the ambulance turned to the left (and) crash my left mirror,” he explained.

Feeling that he was hit, Dwiyanto followed the ambulance driven by Hildan to the Tangerang District Hospital, Tangerang City, where the pregnant woman gave birth.

“So I took the initiative to follow it just to know if it was true that the ambulance was carrying patients. It turned out that it was true that it was carrying patients,” he said.

Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho previously revealed that the dispute between Hildan and Dwiyanto ended peacefully.

“Alhamdulillah, both parties realize that this problem is resolved amicably and it is enough to get here,” said Zain.

According to Zain, Dwiyanto and Hildan have forgiven each other. Thus, said Dwi, the case has been completed.

“Both parties also forgive each other and we will resolve this case amicably restorative justice“said Zain.
