Illegal motorbikes without official documents on the road and reckless driving will end their fate in New York, United States. Without mercy, hundreds of problematic motorbikes were crushed by bulldozers!
The Mayor of New York, Eric Adam ordered to destroy more than 100 dirt bike, and All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) which are illegal or undocumented. Eric Adams waving checkered flag a sign of hundreds of these motors can be crushed.
Without mercy, the row of motors was immediately leveled. The reason is that the confiscated motorbike is a vehicle off road, should not be used on the highway. But often found on the streets of New York City recklessly.
“Today we stand in the shadow of the Tower of Freedom. We free ourselves from the machines of destruction that are on our streets. They will be destroyed so that they will never be able to terrorize cities again,” Adam was quoted as saying by Carscoops, Sunday ( 26/6/2022).
“Dirt bikes and ATVs are not only annoying and distracting to us, they are very dangerous too,” Adams said.
“The NYPD heard the call and they are doing the tough job of getting rid of the loud, scary and dangerous and illegal dirt bikes and ATVs that are in our way,” he added.
Adam explained that it was more permanent to destroy the bikes than to donate them.
“They (illegal motorbikes) will be turned into scrap metal and eventually recycled,” he said.
He added that many of them did not have insurance and urged ATV dealers to ask for proof of insurance and registration documents before selling them.
New York Police Department Commissioner Keechant Sewell added that police have seized more than 2,000 of these illegal vehicles across New York City since January.
Illegal dirtbikes and ATVs endanger the lives of New Yorkers. We’re not letting them go unchecked.
This year we’ve already taken nearly 2,000 bikes off the street and we’re just getting started.
