In recent months, we have become accustomed to many manufacturers ceasing production indefinitely, and after Audi, BMW and Volkswagen soon did so, another German brand has now closed one of its plants for a short time. The Mercedes factory in India stopped producing cars for about 6 hours, but this time the culprit was not the war in Ukraine or the lack of semiconductors, but a leopard.
It is unclear how the wild animal made its way to one of the brand’s production lines at the plant and remained there for several hours before being taken out by the local forestry and wildlife protection organization. The leopard is three years old and is currently under medical supervision before being released back into its habitat.
To everyone’s delight, no people or animals were injured, and Mercedes employees escaped with fear and a few hours of rest. The factory in India produces models such as C-Klasse, E-Klasse, S-KLasse, CLA Coupe, GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS.
