A new concept called EQXX was unveiled at the CES 2022 trade fair in its online premiere. Mercedes-Benz claims that this is only a prototype for the time being, but it is generally expected that future production models from the German carmaker will take over most of the revolutionary features of the concept.

Mercedes has previously announced that the EQXX electric car will be the most economical and efficient model in the company’s history. The incredible range of 1000 kilometers on a single charge is mainly due to aerodynamics with a resistance of only Cx 0.18 and a reduction in the car’s weight.

The Germans used a 900-volt system and a low-weight electric motor for the concept. Therefore, despite large batteries with a capacity of “less than 100 kWh”, the car weighs only 1,750 kilograms, thanks to the use of magnesium wheels, aluminum brakes, carbon doors and a thin roof panel with solar technology. Unfortunately for speed lovers, the car is supposed to be mainly efficient, and therefore has a single electric motor with 204 horsepower.

With its external dimensions, it resembles today’s C-Class. In the interior, Mercedes used the most luxurious that is currently available. For example, the driver will have a 47.5-inch display with a resolution of 8K, which is composed of one part.

Overall, the interior is composed mainly of sustainable materials, the cabin has cactus seats, vegan leather made from mushrooms and sustainable plastics recycled from landfills.
